ARTICLES
From 2000 to 2014, my articles were a regular staple to the magazine, Berkshire HomeStyle. As the Garden Editor, I also had monthly columns such as Dig In and To Do in the Garden. More recently, (see side column), I contributed pieces on community issues, the environment, and farming for The Berkshire Edge; Berkshire Food + Travel as well as Atencion, a weekly paper in San Miguel de Allende where I wrote about local water issues as well as El Charco del Ingenio, a botanical garden.
As a freelance writer, I contributed to national magazines such as Horticulture and including one on street art in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for the Huffington Post.
I received two writing awards from the Garden Writers Association: a Bronze Award for Lessons from Sissinghurst, and a Silver Award for Edith Wharton: An Encounter with the Berkshires . My own garden, Seekonk Farm in the Berkshires received a Golden Trowel Award from the magazine Garden Design and was also featured in the book, Great Gardens of the Berkshires by Virginia Small, with photographs by Rich Pomerantz.
For years, my photographs illustrated my writing; today, to a certain extent, it is the reverse.
