April Fools Day gave me the excuse to share a few photos be they humorous, bizarre, or zany. Hence my title: “A Tad Quirky”.

Here, in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico one easily can discover such scenes — and, what we, gringos, might label as “funny”. I love street photography especially with my iPhone. It’s a venue for capturing such unexpected moments. Nothing planned here. For example, I came across this just as I was walking outside my front door. Haven’t seen that four-wheeler with the mannequins since. Did someone tow it away??

I feel no need for much text in this post. Also, today is March 31 and tomorrow April 1. I hope the photos will talk for themselves. Perhaps a few will even bring a smile to your face.

Just below: a beach scene in Colombia. Looks more like an ad but no professional photographer was present. However, in the third photo of the sequence with the woman in her elegant, white wedding gown and veil, it was for a photo shoot. I was politely asked to step away.

The Dia de los Muertos couldn’t be a better opportunity for capturing unusual portraits.

He actually was walking along the street till he took a pause.

Photographs carry stories. In sequence they can say even more. (The sign in the photo below which I didn’t fully capture says: Andatti. Let’s go.) An element of intrigue but also sadness is involved. Is there any humor to it? Depends on your perspective or in my case, mood.

This torn paper once most probably said: “Obra Suspendida” or “Suspended Work”. A few are seen on buildings about the Centro Historico which is supposed to adhere to specific building codes. My piece is now suspended too!
